Maybe most would disagree but I thought the Beatles were just a terrible choice for the Dead to cover.

The Beatles relied so much on their perfect harmonies and all around vocal prowess and let's face it--not exactly a Dead strong point.

Plus Jerry didn't seem to know the songs very well and almost always butcher the words. I was at MSG in '83 to hear "Revolution" and even tho' I was totally excited at the time, going back to hear it is pretty painful. (For the ultimate in painful listening, seek out the insanely horrible, absolutely embarrassing version they did of "Blackbird" sometime in, I think, '88....)

I'd rather they stuck w/Dylan covers and others that didn't rely so heavily on sweet vocal performances.
